Mr. Serge Demers, director of ISMER-UQAR, was elected president of the St. Lawrence Global Observatory Board of Directors during the first SLGO Annual general meeting held on October 25, 2007 in Rimouski. Other Board members are: Ariane Plourde, vice-president, representing Fisheries and Oceans Canada; Alain Andersen, treasurer, representing Technopole Maritime du Québec; Thierry Schmitt, secretary, representing Centre Interdisciplinaire en Cartographie des Océans; Philippe Morel, representing Environment Canada; Josée Charest, representing Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique and Maurice Levasseur, representing Université Laval.
