The 2009 Ocean Innovation conference was held in Victoria, British Columbia, on October 20 to 22. Participants, from across Canada gathered around the theme "Greener ship - Bluer Waters" in the context of green or eco navigation.
A large Quebec delegation was present to promote regional expertise and also a proposition about the implementation of a national strategic network "NavEcoNet" presented by I. Schloss.
J. Hamel of SLGO was part of the Technopole Maritime du Québec delegation along with other representatives of the sciences and technologies cluster. Delegates included Mr. Laurent Bellavance, excutive director of Technopole maritime du Québec and SLGP administrator, Mr Jean Lafflamme and Mr Martin Lapointe from CIDCO, Ms. Irene Schloss from ISMER, Mr. Stéphane Arsenault from DEC and M. Claude Côté from MDEI were also present.

The event allowed SLGO to lay the foundations for new collaborations and to identify potential projects.
